I was demoing songs for my 1st solo album. I’d started on it with David Gamson (Scritti Politti, Meshell Ndegeocello) and was going back and forth to LA to work on it when 911 happened. The border got tight and travel got strange so I decided to take 6 or 8 songs that seemed to hang together and finish them off myself. They came together pretty quickly and I did it all Prince style just me in my bathrobe fooling around in the garage studio. I added other people to it later.
